Dukan Diet

So- I have been on the Dukan Diet for...almost a month ( on Friday 11-4-11 it will be exactly one month) I have lost 13 lbs so far, and not sure on inches yet... I will have to measure tonight & see. This diet caught my eye because #1- My Aunt was on it, and she has lost 25-30 lbs (not sure exact, somewhere in there) since August-- So I thought Hmmmm....maybe I can give it a go.
I got the book from a local book store, hastings.... and it is called Dukan Diet

You can get SOME information online....but for the most part, you will need to book to FULLY follow the diet & understand.


The difference I have found with this (& other weight loss or diets) is this is pretty LONG... for example,  I will be on this diet until April....It has a "transition" phase at the end, so your body will (hopefully) keep the weight off... :)




What I eat..
Breakfast:
He recommends eating oat bran DAILY, even after you are finished with the diet... it helps your heart, and helps you not want bread, other cravings. He gives a reciepe for an oat bran pancake that is pretty tasty-- oat bran, fat free yogurt, & an egg white.. You can also add cinnamon & vanilla for taste.
I have shaken it up a bit...
I found sugar free/fat free carmel at the store, after searching EVERYWHERE.....
So I bake those (kinda like an oatmeal cookie) and drizzle the caramel over them, and sometimes eat plain, or with sugar free syrup.... 



then I usually have a hard boiled egg with it :)

and If i am able to find it, the leanest turkey breakfast sausage.. :) with the sugar free syrup.


YOU can have coffee, but you CANNOT have any sugar, and it all has to be fat free-sugar free.. YOU CAN have splenda, equal etc.... 
I have also mastered a sugar free- fat free caramel mach at home :) 


So that is usually my daily breakfast :)


Snack- hard boiled eggs, fat free yogurt, meat...( if you are on a veggie day.... which you have one day of pure protein, then a pure protein and veggie day, etc) you can also snack on those....
Some Veggies that are NOT allowed; corn, avacado, potatos... etc.. in the book he tells you what is allowed & not allowed...
You CAN'T season with butter, oil, etc.... We grill alot at home, & I have been taking the left overs for lunches/snacks the next day. 
Fish is allowed as well :)
and I haven't found a sugar free/fat free dressing anywhere, in the book he also has the recipe to a dressing you can make at home... usually I just use a lemon wedge..
NO FRUIT :( 
I thought it was going to be SUPER tough, but it isn't THAT BAD... & I am getting used to it..
I am on the "cruise phase" (pure protein day/veggie day) until I have reached my weight loss... (13 more to go!!) then I will switch phases and can add in carbs, fruits, etc.. but you are limited to just ONE a day :)




If anyone else is intersted in this diet, I suggest you get the book :)
Very easy to read and so far easy to follow!!

ya following me?
     I am married :) (duh, if you read my last post, you would know) && i have switched jobs.. not sure If i blogged about that???
I am back to doing hair & make-up and super stoked!! :) I graduated in 2008 from Cosmo school.... This is my longest working at a salon... So total rounding up I have been doing hair for a little under a year-- I am LOVING being back in the salon..
 & i now get to do make-up as well, & it's totally rocking my world.


I am obsessed with many blogs, I love to read them & watch their youtube vidoes... like all day everyday.
There are SO many talented people out there, it's crazy... (here i go again with the crazy word)
         So I have been getting back into the swing of things, trying to build up my clientelle and make some $$$$.. ;) and being a mommy & a wifey :) which are INCREDIBLE... wouldn't ask for anything more.
     Kambria is now 6 (7 in feb)
Berlyn is ALMOST 2...in feb :)

Halloween was GREAT, Kambria was a Bride, Berlyn was an Owl & Josh & I were Pirates :) If you couldn't tell by the pictures....


Kambria was the trick or treater CHAMP... literally like SO pumped to hit every house, and RUN.... like 55 miles ahead of everyone, to get there first.... like all the candy was going to be gone or something..... & when she was done, she pointed towards the house and yelled "Now home to pass out candy" and took OFF!!!! HHAHA It was so cute to watch her come out of her shell... this year was the year she has been most into it, and more UN-SHY :)
....and for little miss berlyn, well... she got scared at the first house we went to, (they came out in masks to scare everyone) & let's just say my arms were numb by the time we got home.... she wouldn't let me put her down, or leave her site after that :) maybe next year she will warm up a little more.... she looked darn cute though!! :)

anyways, you take a bottle,jar,box..whatever you want, and you write memories down on them on pieces of paper *like if you just got back from vacation, just had a bike ride, took a family walk, etc.... a good memory and you put it in your jar, then on new years eve, you go through them all and read them out loud with your family.... awww :) i see you guys all tearing up :) lol no but seriously we are starting that & I can't wait to what we come up with...






What else is going down...
I just recently went to a redken training class in durango, co ... it was off the hook... brayden pelletier was our trainer ( you can look him up) and he is CRAZY talented and blew me away with everything he knew.. We took one day of design and a day of finishing...( so cutting and styling) for simplier terms and this month we have 2 days of color... totally stoked for that..
It is so nice to get to take these extra classes, & learn more and more... someday I want to be the one standing up there, or the one behind the scenes at fashion week.. GOAL!

pumpkin patch & cabin trip all in one weekend was AMAZING and a total SUCCESS!!

I love the holiday's and making memories, & just spending time with the ones I love.... <3 because they are my LIFE!!


We are headed to CA in about 3 weeks for a family reunion and to visit some friends/family a few days before, its actually thanksgiving weekend, and we are so excited to spend MORE time with family & get to know everyone better and for Kambria & Berlyn to play and meet more cousins!! :) It is going to be a weekend jam packed of fun and we cannot WAIT...
We are going to be driving straight through in one day, hoping the girls make it... We've done the driving all night deal, & it works, but since berlyn doesn't understand when we get there, that mommy & daddy want to sleep, it's a little hard... haha so we are going to try and do the day trip-- make it fun :) of course pack snacks and some extra goodies... and road games...


I have also been on this new diet called the dukan diet... you all can look it up, and I have been very happy with it... first diet I have ever followed!!
I will do a whole post on what I eat, etc after this... dedicated just to the dukan diet, since alot of you have been asking ;)

Yes, it's been THIS long... well actually.. about 4 months long since I have written a blog.. Where have I been, you ask?.... Surfing the waves in Japan... Actually, surfing the waves of loveee, baby!!!

    So sorry you have to wait for the wedding post... We need to back it up a bit. Back it up, Back it up, You've got it.. You've got it... crasshh into me, real hard!! <3 That song brings back total memories..
      Okay.... Christmas came & went.... & it was fabulous!! Our first Christmas all together... and Berlyn's first Christmas!! You know what I just realized... I never uploaded any Christmas pictures onto Facebook... That's my picture source these days!! Dang... Guess I will do some backing it up on there too!!

We took the girls to see Santa.. Kambria is pretty tight with him... Well just starting this year or so.. Berlyn was pretty friendly with him too... and wasn't scared by his long beard... and you know what, folks... Santa had his ear pierced...... still.
      That's right, when I took Kambria to see Santa last year, she was the ultimate examineer ( I am not sure if that word is spelled right, too fancy for me, anyways :) )
She noticed his ear was pierced, his boots were falling apart, he was drinking soda from a cup with a straw, AND he was NOT the same santa who we had breakfast with, at another event...
            Really, Santa!!!!
Who the heck hires a santa to come work in the mall, to meet and greet kids who has his ear pierced?? Farmington, New Mexico!! Yeahhh.... After some long explaining to her... He IS the real santa (with his ear pierced, and boots falling apart) and the one we had breakfast with... the normal looking one.. he is just an elf helper! :)

Love these girls, who are pretty in pink..... Looking at these pictures makes me miss Berlyn being so small..... and miss these holiday times!! Can't wait until next Christmas..which I will most likely blog about on 4th of july ;)

Kambria's Christmas Program..... CUTEST thing EVER... I cried... Of course.

There she is again, in the pink.... This was her favorite color at the time.

Her class is so cute. I love looking at the pictures I capture of her and her friends at school.... Priceless!!!
      She practiced SO hard for these songs during the Christmas song.. and I need to go purchase the video at school, so I can post that... Cause you'll love it!!

         After Christmas took place, it was time to get down to the grind.. and do some WEDDING PLANNING!!!
    I should of hired a wedding planner, not just myself to make the phone calls, and do all the pre-arranging cause it was freaking hard dude!! I was a STRESS case at home, and work.... and everyone noticed...
When I came back to work from the wedding and honeymoon vacation... I was told "You can tell you aren't stressed anymore, you have this special glow about you, and your normal again." whatever that means..... dude, planning a wedding is HARD.... I don't advise anyone to do it by them selvs.. CAUTION!!

Battle Of The Brides 2011!!!
 Was pretty suhhweet.. I wish I had more pictures.. bummer! Well there was like 30 of us to start out with, and you did contests, to finally it was down to the final 3 who did a cake smash/slam to find a ring... a fake plastic ring.. with a 1,000 gift card in there to a local jewler shop... who's da bomb... and who we got our rings from.. I was totally hoping for that plastic ring... I never wanted a plastic ring that much in my life...
   Well...I didn't get it.. BUUTTT my friend Bonnie did, and she SMASHED THAT CAKE LIKE NO OTHER!!

Bonnie is in the middle... WINNER!! WINNING... :) or won? Whatever the past verbal usage should be.
        Even though I didn't win it, or make it down to the final 3, I realized I am not going to ever try out for any games shows, because I about blacked out the entire time.. I've played sports growing up, and was the pitcher in softball, and was in beauty pagents.. So i know all about having the "spotlight" and I am totally okay with that... Camera? Who said camera... Picture!!
  Okay, really.. but when it comes to competing.. like that kind... WHO THE HECK AM I?... the pictures, I look like a cow, ready to go pounce on someone because they stole my milk bucket another neath me... really.. scaryy!!
   Never again.. okay, well maybe again.. Just for the heck of it....;)
    

I just realized I didn't post about thanksgiving.... well folks, better luck next year?!!
        This post is going to end becase I need to go to the bathroom, and get something to drink..
